Well, from a design point of view - Curtains are much nicer than venetian blinds. Maybe something in silk, or jacquard. . .
Window treatments are like picture frames for live art. If your view is so-so, then venetians will suffice, but if you have an amazing view then you'd need to frame it appropriately.
I know that "window treatments" isn't exactly what you were talking about, my head is just very much in it's own space.
And that's a good space for it to be! My apartment has vertical venetian blinds, but I'd much prefer some deep-coloured curtains that I could sweep aside, rather than wrestling with the strings that open and close my blinds, and rotate them.
Hm... why do I keep spelling blind "bling"? Probably from habit and spelling -ing words.
It could very well be that all I was referring to was window treatments. I more often write with the purpose of allowing the reader to interpret as they please, rather than to force upon them my own interpretation.
Is it at all a coincidence that the two of you start with the same four letters?
I used to be "Child of the Phoenix" but I decided I wasn't really a child anymore. And then my friends shortened Phoenix to Phoe. . And I decided to let it stick. . .
So, it would seem that Phoenix and I are one in the same - Only I'm 1/2 way through my burning. . . ;)

I didn't know that!! I often wondered where you got Phoe from though. :)
