answer: watching my wife or kids get tortured and being unable to move to help them.

LoL@ ManNMotion! I read a book about a man who was in a bad accident and had to wear this device screwed into his legs, into the bone, to hold them together for over a year. It sounded awfully painful. That would be torture.
