running
My sister challenged me to an organized 5km race on September 16th being held in a nearby town. I started my training last night. The loop below is just about exactly one km, so I did five counter-clockwise laps starting on Forest Hill where the yellow/blue line ends and the blue line begins.
Lap 1: Run blue, walk yellow, run blue until orange, sprint orange, walk yellow
Lap 2: Run blue, walk yellow, run blue until yellow, walk yellow
Lap 3: Run blue, walk yellow, run blue until orange, sprint orange, walk yellow
Lap 4: Run blue, walk yellow, run blue until yellow, walk yellow
Lap 5: Run blue, walk yellow, run blue to end.
I don't have a stopwatch yet, so I don't know how long it took, however, based on previous years runs, to place in the top 10 I need to run 5km in 20 minutes or less. To place in the top 5 I need to run it in 19 minutes or less, and to place in the top 3 I need to run it in 18 minutes 50 second or less. My goal is to make it into the top 3.

Looks great!
Important to make sure that you don't ever go out too fast to avoid injuries!
Keep up the great work!
Don't forget to stretch at the end.
