Why is it that pollution is so disgusting? Why couldn't the powers that be have decided to make pollution beautiful so that it wouldn't be so problematic?

I think the plural of Kleenex is like the plural of fish. It's just Kleenex. That'd be my guess.
kleenex --> kleenexus --> kleenexii.
