I've read this article a few times and still it rings true to me. It is somewhat long, but the first time I read it I was gripped to continue reading to the end.
The latest IPCC release which is summarized in this PDF supports the desperate need for urgent wide spread dramatic action at all levels.
Part of me believes it is too late, as a planet we are destined to come to a terrible end and there is nothing that can be done about it so why should I bother to try to do anything?
Another part of me says I should push hard and promote action locally, regionally and globally to alleviate as much as possible the effects of climate change.

I had to stop reading half way through, it's just too depressing. What a future we pass onto our children!
I will read this during work tomorrow, if there is a moment's breathing room... if not, I'll read it at home. And then comment.
