Maximize your minimalism
The best thing about being yourself is not having to argue with yourself about who you are. Sure, you can meander among all of the possible definitions of who you are, but why bother to peg yourself down to a definition? Why not leave yourself to be defined as yourself and no one else?
For sure we can make comparisons between ourselves and others that help us to define ourselves, but again, why bother to make such comparisons? Aren't we all in our own various ways ourselves by no definition other than that we are ourself?
Ultimately this all comes down to an oft-used expression, one we often use with our children or when giving advice to someone about to go on a date:
Be yourself.

It's the same thing as lying... the more you lie, the more stories you have to remember, and eventually you mess up. But if you just tell the truth, then you don't have to worry about getting your stories straight.
So if you define yourself by/in comparison to others, it's not who you are, and you have trouble keeping the story straight and end up a hypocrite.
I try and be true to my slef at all times. :)
My feelings exactly.
easier said then done...
