swimming uphill in my underwear

There is a lottery on sale this month from our national lottery that has as a jackpot one million dollars a year for 25 years. Given all of the doomsday articles I have been reading I'm not sure I would go for such a lottery. Granted winning this would mean I would have one million dollars each year for the next two or three years, that would be great, but ten years from now, if the most dire of peak oil prognosticator's predictions come to fruition, it could be there is no lottery company for the remainder of my collection years. Better to win the regular 649 or Super 7 which is a lump sum all at once with jackpots currently at 4 and 10 millions dollars each respectively.

Do you ever play the lotteries?

i do. bit think of this, even if you win a lump sum and put it in the bank and the doomsday financial future comes to pass, the banks will fail and it will all be useless anyway.

Ghost has a very good point.

Personally I would be happy just winning $50 'cause that hasn't happened for quite some time.

ghost: If I win a lump sum I could spend a large part of it in a short period of time doing things that I feel would help protect my friends and family from any coming societal or economic global crisis.

At the very least I could throw a really nice party!
