mixing metaphors with cake batter

Warnings that you receive concerning the welfare of your health and family's health are occasionally disregarded. This disregard is not necessarily at the immediate cost of you or your family's health or welfare but may be a cost paid at some future time. This future time is difficult to prognosticate, so some people will hedge their bets by heeding the warnings, while others decide that as that future time is not yet decided, the decisions being made today with respect to these warnings only have a probable, not absolute, chance of occurring.
