Using the train to transport goods from one place to another is much better than using a truck, llama or bison.

We finally filed our income taxes yesterday, looks like another good year of refunds, all in thanks to a semi-wise decision to buy an investment property in 1999. Every year we are ending up putting some of our money into this investment property to pay for expenses, but those expenses are so high that they offset the revenue thus lowering our income for which our employer has thereby garnered too many income tax withdrawals. The semi-wise part is that we put it on the market for sale in 2005 and had it listed for 18 months with no interest whatsoever. Not a very liquid investment.

On the bright side we can go there periodically and as it is in a resort village it means we can get a mostly free vacation by driving up there, paying the one time 50$ cleaning fee and paying for our food.

Mexico is only more south than countries that are north of it.
