wahhh waaa hhh

bla bla bla, our company got bought last spring and finally our vacation day policy is being replaced by the buying company's vacation policy. The people around me are, guess what, complaining about it.

Why people are so resistant to change sometimes mystifies me. I will fully acknowledge that I too am occasionally resistant to change, however I believe that many of the times that other people are resistant, I try to keep an open mind and face the changes coming with open arms.

im usually reluctant to change. i need time to consider it, to think about it from alot of different angles. once ive done that i adapt easily.

We do have things in common.
Change is good! I consider myself as a progressive.I'm also an eternal optimist.

Enthusiasm is catching...

I'm pleased with the change.. I get an extra week of vacation out of it! Yay!!

A change is as good as a holiday unless the change is to holidays in which case the holiday change may not be as good as the holiday before the holiday was changed. No that doesn't sound right, maybe I should start that again.......

Oh I know....All good things must come to an end. Then again MikeE just said that he gets an extra week so all good things are getting better.

What days off do you get over the Christmas break? How many weeks off do you get annually?

old policy: 4 weeks vacation per year accrued monthly at 1.67 days per month. On December 31st I could not have more than 25 days in my vacation bank lest I lose them. I also had six 'personal days' to be used at my discretion for sickness, children's sickness, for others their non-christian religious holidays and so on.

new policy: I now get 26 vacation days per year accrued as 8.13 hours per bi-monthly pay. All vacation days must be used by December 31st lest they be lost.

Over the Christmas break we have as holidays December 25, 26 and January 1. As vacation I have also taken December 24,29,30 & 31.
