mixing a musical note with a haiku

When flagellating between thix and froon to capture the essence of the topic of this post I bumped into the word meritocracy.

Fortunately I did not lose my balance and fall down. It was an incidental bump.

There is no consensus in descerning the capabilities of the leadership, nor the defining roles of a meritocratic council. Some recommend that a panel consist of an odd number of individuals. Others make no recommendation whatsoever.

If it were up to me I would mandate a diffuse number. Let the volume of decision makers ebb and flow relative to the number and importance of decisions to be made. In this way the appropriate quantity of wisdom could be applied to resolving the decision to a finite subset of possible solutions. Then a vote finalizes the decision.

i can see how people might react negatively to the sight, and possibly screams, of someone being flagellated, but i think they'd respond much better to witnessing self-flagellation. of course in both cases the severity of the flagellation would be directly proportional the reaction. or vice-versa. i think i've flagellated this equus into quietus.
