1. Driving from my son's school to work this morning I saw a dog riding in the back seat of another car with his head sticking out the window. Some super keeners are on the verge of equating canines with homo sapiens on a multitude of levels, so why do dogs not have to wear a seat belt?

2. A little further along on my drive I happened to see an albino squirrel. These are very rare and yet it is the second one I see this year (the other was in a distant neighbourhood, so it is doubtful it was the same one).

3. Walking in the parking lot from my car to work a group of birds flew nearby overhead, I'm not sure how many there were, perhaps three or four. I did not actually see the birds, but I heard the sound of them flapping their wings through the air. That is a sound we do not hear often due to other sounds being louder.

4. I checked my lottery ticket as soon as I got in to the office - I did not win.

1. Difficult, since they don't have laps or shoulders, as such. A harness is a good idea, though.

4. I have failed to actually buy a lottery ticket, despite 3 years in a state with one, and trips to other states that do, and intending to.
