reprimanded

An authority here at work provided feedback to me indicating that complaints had been made as to how much I surf, so I have had to curtail my web time. My visits to blogmates will not cease, however, those visits may become slightly sporadic.

In brighter news, the sun is out. (could anything be brighter?)

who complained? and how would they know what you were up to if they were busy doing their own damn jobs?

Sucks. Sorry about that.

your IT guy has provided data to authority person, whether out of his own initiative or as mandated? no one might have complained - the phrase "complaints had been made" might have simply been a vehicle - a way to get it out. but you would know the personality of your workplace better than I.
hey - there's always surfing the old fashioned way - outside of work... ;)

ghost: I don't know.

Zhoen: such is life.
tomek: Our IT dept is too thin to be monitoring employee web usage; most of what I do online is low bandwidth, so I wouldn't come up on any high usage report.

As for surfing outside of work, I have this thing called 'family life' which seems to suck up all of my time when I am not at work.

so someone DID complain... they ratted you out. is it hate? or is it a practical reason - they want your position, and this is just the beginning. they'd like to see their cousin Larry in your place. the beginnings of a takeover...

family life..? sounds vaguely familiar... i think a friend of mine used to have one of those... what do you feed it?

i tend to surf at night when everybody's asleep and in the morning when everybody's asleep.
