Playing in a band

elastic band?

I've been meaning to do some research on discovering how to look things up. It is such an odd phrase, 'look things up'. Are the things being looked for always found in the 'up' direction? Is it always 'things' that are being looked for, or could be it information, or people, or a recipe, or directions? I remain determined to self-prohibit the use of such a phrase. I require my own articulation to remain as specific as possible at all times.

Now, on to the research...

Looking things down would be leering or contemptuous, and things don't like that and hide.

Looking sideways appears sneaky, and things don't like that either.
