where the skunks roam
Raccoons,Skunks, and Squirrels are the wildlife that I see most often in my backyard.
In the general area where I live I can also find ground hogs, rabbits, and chipmunks.
Out in the country there is a wider variety including what I have listed above, but all of what I've listed above I can see on a fairly regular basis without having to deviate from my regular routine.

We have rabbits. Lots of rabbits.
In drought areas rabbits not only eat the grass but also the roots and the seeds. They will eat the bark from trees and strip bare saplings. Entire eco systems are destroyed by rabbits, never to regenerate.
Bloody rabbits.
