boring boring boring

For those of you who live in the United States of America, or who are celebrating Thanksgiving no matter where in the world, enjoy your day.

For the rest of us who are not celebrating Thanksgiving today, enjoy your day.

For everyone else, lose a turn.

American Thanksgiving is remarkable at my workplace only in that perhaps 90% of our customers are American, and so because they are off, we don't have any interaction with them today (phone or email). Since even before I started working here thirteen years ago, this day was called 'Cleanup Day' - it is the one day in the year you are given permission to spend some non-billable time to do things like clean up your desk, clean up your inbox, clean out your network drive and so on. In addition to this the company orders in pizza for everyone.

I'm so glad Thanksgiving is leaking good elsewhere.

My family is Canadian, and I grew up with Thanksgiving being the day when mom never cooked. We had to shift for ourselves, and I often ate peanut butter and jam sandwiches to my heart's content while watching the parade on TV.
