bilge pumps run amok in the dandelions
We had our company 'Holiday' party last night. It was fun, {though/and} at moments I was surreptitiously peripheral by design and at other times enigmatically inconsequential by chance. It was nice to have a brief reconnection with a coworker whom many years previous I had spent many consecutive months as a desk mate. The food was tolerable, and as entertainment I shared a table with coworkers who all reveled in the fact that as table numbers were being called to retrieve their food, it dawned on us we would be last, and in the end, we were.
It was really interesting to see generational differences of who was on the dance floor based on what music is being played. AC/DC vs Rihanna; big movement of people on/off the dance floor depending on what played.
I would have stayed later than I did had I not left when I had.

I have attended exactly one work Christmas party that I enjoyed. It was not my employer, but my spouse's.
I have attended many Christmas parties. After the last one, I vowed never to do it again.
i skip mine. im not big on crowds.
yes, i know im locked in a room full of kids everyday. somehow, its different.
I went to hubby's Christmas party on Saturday. I got stuck sitting across from the very last person I wanted to be near. He talked non-stop and initially when I tried to add to the conversation he checked his phone, looked at his watch, looked around etc. You see, he thinks he is soooo important that he must be the centre of attention always. So I got very naughty (but not nasty), and interrupted him when he spoke, changed the subject often by asking irrelevant questions, got other people around us to to talk instead of him and when it looked like his head was going to explode from being muzzled I got up and mingled. Right now he is probably blogging about the stupid bitch who sat opposite him at his Xmas party and would not shut up. hehehe
BTW I finally got around to reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Going to that Xmas party was cutting into my reading time which was very annoying. I now know what I want for Xmas; the next two books in the series.
