I like the top way, because I can just aim the third prong most visibly. The bottom is more fun because it looks like a face.
The ground should be at the bottom... but, some plugs in my house are the other way, and I can't switch them as the damn wires are too short! I like to align the ground on the bottom... seems more natural.
Phil, you need to get a pen and draw on some ears and maybe a bit of hair.
