I've been meaning to tell you all about the birthday party I had when I turned thirteen years old. I think there may have been something very memorable about that birthday, but I can't remember it now; this is the reason I haven't, up until now, brought it up.
My birthday is not very close to now. Twelve days from now there will be an equal number of days that have passed since my last birthday as there are days between then and my next birthday. This can only be true because 2012 is a leap year.
I don't envy people who have birthdays in December, or more so, the second half of December. I also don't envy people who stub any one of their toes a number of times that is greater than a global average.

what is the global average?
my son's birthday is next monday. my brother's birthday is saturday. my father's is the following monday.
I do not know what the global average is, though if I was to guess I would figure probably about one toe stubbing per 18 months per person.
January is the crazy month in my extended family; my wife, youngest daughter, brother-in-law and mother-in-law were all born in January.
Is your brother still blogging? I haven't picked anything up off of Google-reader from him in months.
Most birthdays happen between August and October in my family/friend circle. My birthday happens in June, which makes it unique in my family, since there aren't any other birthdays around that time. I used to celebrate several times, because we also celebrate my saint day since we're Catholic (St. Anthony), and then we celebrate it again on Father's Day, since that's when we have a family reunion of sorts and we acknowledge birthdays at the same time.
