part of my basement

Since Z was so kind to share her basement, or images thereof, anyhow, I thought to show this:

We had an energy audit done and the biggest recommendation was to insulate the basement walls where there isn't already insulation, ie the bare foundation walls. The header, where the foundation meets the frame of the exterior supporting walls, could also be insulated more thoroughly in a few places (the laundry area) so that will be done also.

For the crawl space where it was too dark, on another occasion I may take some photos where the flash will help to show it.

I want a basement. waaahhhh
In the laundry area there is a milk carton with holes cut out hanging from the ceiling; what's that about?

Zhoen: we have a detector down there which thus far has detected nothing.

Deb: it was an activity my son did in Cubs - it is a bird feeder. If you pause at the 52 second mark you can see a plastic bag sticking out of the hole - the plastic bag has in it bird food. We just haven't put it out yet.
