The importance of building a nesting box

From the David Fleay Wildlife Park.

No matter how many cross walks we crossed, I did not once ever see a pair of disembodied legs attempt to cross the street.

It rained on and off the whole time I was in the Gold Coast. We saw many of these (boats and rainbows).

This is Australia, instead of shoes on those disembodied legs there should be thongs (flip flops).

Hubby's reaction to building a nesting box for lorikeets was something like "You've got to be kidding. The last thing we need is those things squawking every morning. Stupid birds make enough noise to wake the dead".

If you have spare time read Eden's blog on http://www.edenriley.com/ it has been interesting reading the last week.

I've in the past read about building a bat nesting box. Maybe I'll go ahead and do that this summer. Who knows if I'll ever get any, but I think it will be interesting to try.

And why not build a bat box - I'm sure that the kids would love to have Batman as a visitor!

I really do like bats. They eat bugs.
