making the most of sunshine and lint
So, today was the first day of school for G-bot and C-ling. They were both a little bit nervous about going to school for the first day. I told them to imagine it was their 65th day and that since they've already been at school for 64 days, it is just like any other school day. Then I said, even better, you didn't have any homework due and you have no tests, so it is even better than the 65th day where you may have both.
I don't know if this helped, but hopefully it helped a little.
So, we're back to the routine of making lunches, helping the kids with their homework, back to school year activities like cubs, brownies, choir, hockey and so on.
Some days I look very much forward to the time when my kids can get to their own activities. Most of the time I am happy that my kids are still quite young and happy to spend time with their parents.

me too. im not really looking forward to when they have better things to do than play with dear old dad.
I would be so nice to have hired help to do the early morning routine of getting the kids out of bed and out of the house on time, don't you think? That would have to most stressful time for most parents.
If you can't comfort them with commiseration, baffle them with baloney.
ghost: indeed.
deb: my wife would never allow it.
zhoen: yep, I use baloney all the time - I don't find commiseration works.
