if I wasn't a toilet
Of all of the creatures out there, I think the Peacock has one of the names that is least likely to win a popularity contest.
Here is an example of one in the rarest of photographed forms - the wings folded in.
I do not have a pet Peacock, I do not think this creature would fare well in the kind of winter weather I get where I live. Kind of like how it is for some humans, too.
Am I saying that a human who can't tolerate my winters is a Peacock? Perhaps I am, perhaps I'm not.

it's not an envied name, but it is a beautiful bird, though i am not as fond of them as i am birds of prey. those birds are built for brutal efficiency whereas the peacock is just pretty but of little use.
i suppose you could say i like my people the way i like my birds.
I am, perhaps, a Peacock, per your description. But not per ghost's.
I had an aunt who owned peacocks. She didn't seem to be overly fond of them so I'm guessing they aren't that great as pets.
They are very, very loud.
