SLI
I may have mentioned this before in a blog post, I can't recall. It happens to me, with an uncanny regularity, that as I walk on a street, or drive on a street, and it is night time, that a street lamp will go off as I pass under or in close proximity to it.
It occurred to me as I was composing this post that perhaps this happens to others as well, and that is when I found the Wikipedia article that talks about Street Light Interference phenomenon.
I've never thought of it as an extrasensory affectation, but as merely a coincidence; I have often wondered if some people are more prone to these coincidences than others. When I have talked about this with the people in my life I have only ever encountered one other person who indicated that he, too, experienced SLI.
Do you or have you ever experienced SLI?

Have you ever read The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul?
Or is it Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency? One has what you describe.
No I have never experienced that. I don't think you should go looking at Xmas lights because that might be a total bummer for everyone else who wants to look at lights too.
I've never experienced such a thing, but I would chalk it up to coincidence.
This reminds me of a video by Richard Dawkins I watched yesterday:

I've read most of Douglas Adams, including the titles you've provided. It has been a while, though, so I do not know what you are alluding to.
It has only ever happened to me with street lights, so Christmas lights have nothing to fear.
I'm not in a spot where I can check out the video, but I'll see it soon.
Yes, it is coincidence, but are some people more prone to such coincidences?
I'm pretty sure it was Holistic Detective Agency, but I can't find a reference. Only an oblique reference on one of the Fortean Times message boards.
