There isn't a lot that would interest a tourist in Grand Falls/Windsor. It looks like a nice town to live in, if one can find work. I did a bit of a driving tour this afternoon to see what there was to be seen, if anything.
The entrance to the hotel is at an exit off the TCH, so driving out we can see the on-coming traffic.
Just opposite the hotel is a medical center.
A lot of the roads here are gentle slopes down or up, so in a number of places it is possible to see far because of the slopes of the roads.
This flag was at someone's house on Circular Drive, in the background we can see the frozen Exploits river.
Here's a photo of the mill which is shut down and has been since 2009.
Here is an institutional building of some sort. There weren't many (perhaps any) other houses that looked like this.
What's a town without a water tower?
There's a park on Lincoln road against the water that had these two flags.
Up on the Windsor side on Princess Drive this property was for sale. Maybe it would be a good place to build a Co-housing community.
As with many Newfoundland towns, you'll find houses of a variety of colours.
This is where I was providing the training, to:
A - a fantastic story teller, grammar wiz and word-smith
C - a quick working nice looking figure skating teacher
S - The one with the most experience who was instrumental in making this training a success
I - the only guy in the bunch and whose computer was backfiring left, right and center
P - the one too young to have grandchildren and the one super pleased with her dog
I'm not really prepared for tomorrow. I may have to wing it. There is supposed to be some weather coming, I don't know the details, but if it turns out to be a large dumping of snow, that may work in my favour.
