belching like a mixup painted dusk

So I've spoken with a small number of owners of pop-up or tent-trailers, depending on how you name them. On average these owners used them on two to three trips per year.

New ones are up around 12-15k, used ones run the gamut.

gamut - Noun
The complete range or scope of something: "the whole gamut of human emotion".
A complete scale of musical notes; the compass or range of a voice or instrument.

Used two to three times a year using a total guess of 12 years of average length of ownership, the per use cost of ownership would be 450$ per use for an average new one and perhaps half of that for a used one.

Using it more often will have the cost per use decrease; but who has the time?

If I needed one, which I don't, I would check into the cost of renting one.

The advantage of owning one is that you can load it with your gear permanently so on a Friday night it is simple to pack clothes and food for the weekend, and then take off. If we rented one, we'd spend Friday night packing it with our pots, pans, sleeping bags, dishes, cutlery, condiments, sports gear, bug spray, sunscreen and so on.

I checked out the Slyvansport Go, looks intriguing, but insufficiently outfitted for my family.

Personally, the thought of having 3 children in the back of the car all moaning or squabbling or worse, singing 10 green bottles is enough to turn me of that idea for life. I have a friend (father of 3 children) who owned one. He found the setting up so tiresome that he would only use it for stays that lasted a week or more.
I would suggest you rent one first.

It is why, if I was able to get the one I want, I'd get an Aliner.
