baking a cake in a lake named Drake

Folding laundry as a pass time is about as soothing as watching dandelion seeds blow with the wind on a late spring day when the sun is half way to its apex.

Not that October is anything like a late spring day. I should know.

I tend to fold laundry at night while watching some kind of video. The video could be a movie, a TV show, a sporting event, something recorded, purchased, borrowed or live. Or I listen to music.

Normally by the time I am done folding laundry I am too tired to do anything but go to bed. This means that in the room where TV is watched, there are stacks of laundry sorted by proprietor. Usually within the next day or two I will ask each of the kids to put their own laundry away. Often this means the kids take their clothes and simply dump them on their bed.

Dumping clothes on the bed is better than dumping them on the floordrobe.

Yes, but not as good as putting them away properly.

it is such a futile effort, yes. yet there is some beauty in a stack of folded laundry, a glimmer of order in the chaos.
