fast, but not furious
In Shanghai this past weekend the ISU held a World Cup Short Track Speed Skating event. For me to watch it live-streamed, I had to awaken at 1AM on Saturday morning and 1AM on Sunday morning. I did this both days but went to sleep before the relay races, so I missed watching live the Canadian team winning the gold medal in the ladies 3000m relay.
In this first one, Kim Boutin wins the gold in the 500m
I love how at the end of this race, Suzanne Schulting of The Netherlands comes close to Kim and shares together their happiness at Gold-Silver. Yes, they can be battling hard during the race, but they can also be friends after it.
In this next one, Kim wins the bronze in the 1000m
Suzanne won the gold in this one, and I would like to think Kim would have come close to her too, but Kim fell just after crossing the finish line.
In this next one Courtney Lee Sarault wins the bronze medal in the 1500m, though she did lead more or less through much of the race.
And finally this is when the ladies team won gold in the 3000m relay.
We do have men racers on our Canadian team, Steven Dubois is the most notable in terms of podium finishes, however, Kim and Courtney both seem to be doing better during this season.
