yes, indeed
Well, it isn't every day that one turns 18,262 days old, in fact, it only happens on one day.
Reaching this milestone is not particularly meaningful to me; I am not celebrating it in any special way, and have barely mentioned it to anyone, though family has reached out to wish me a happy birth anniversary.
I went to do a plasma donation this morning and they always ask my birth date as an identity verification, though they know me well by now as I go regularly. Two different people ask this, first the person at the entrance who confirms that I have an appointment, and then the nurse who interviews me and measures my hemoglobin. Only the former of the two recognized that today's date matches my birth date.
I suppose not celebrating it broadly is one thing; what I do do is to take the day off work, something I have mostly done since early on in my working career. I think of it as an extra holiday that is personal to me that I get every year. I take the Friday or Monday off if this 'holiday' falls on a weekend.
I am not certain if there is anything I am going to set a goal for in this first decade of my second half century, I suppose at a base I will continue to keep fit and sleep well. Perhaps I'll make an effort this decade to properly change my diet from eating anything leaning towards fast food, to eating more often and more commonly a Mediterranean diet. I have attempted, half-heartedly, to make this change already, I will see if I can commit to it more broadly, perhaps even this year.
One goal I had had was to find a family doctor by this age, and fortunately this happened earlier this calendar year.
