Yes, it isn't
Happy Canada Day for those of you who are aware that today is the day for it.
I have been spending way too much time during down time during my work days planning what I would do if I won one tenth or one twentieth of the Loto Max jackpot. I am in a pool at work that plays every draw, and once the current prize reached 40M (June 30) I decided to put a little extra in by buying one share of a public group of 10 shares, in two separate groups. Now it is 50M (July 4) so I bought one share of a group of 10 and one share of a group of 20. From that previous draw I won 2$ and three free plays for this next one.
Of course the odds are severely against me, however, if I was to win the one tenth or one twentieth I've created an extremely detailed spreadsheet of how that would play out. At high level, give some to my ex-wife and to my children when each child reaches the age of 21, 26 and 31. Buy a condo in L'Avenue building (1050 Drummond) and move into it as it is close to the train station that takes me back to the West Island. I have looked at unit 3401 which is currently available and I would measure and hopefully the living room part of it is big enough to have room for a ping pong table. If that would work I wouldn't use it is a living room, but as a table tennis room and invite other residents inside the tower to come and play.
I would increase donations to specific charities, quit my job, exercise and volunteer more and travel. The spreadsheet is very large as I keep thinking of ways to refine it or add more detail. Then I read it again from top to bottom to see if there is anything else I haven't yet considered.
In other news I repeatedly let the ePlancul women know that I would meet them in June or drop them; then it occurred to me that I could have a window open into July if I gave them my mobile number and we move over to WhatsApp to continue chatting before meeting. They all cited to meet me first before sharing their number.
In the message I shared my mobile number with them I also gave them a warning that after June I wouldn't contact them apart from replying to a proposed date and a July availability calendar to show when I would be free to meet. Last night I sent a final message to them fulfilling this promise, that I would no longer respond to them unless they provided a date.
All four of them pushed back. There are two ideas I have about this, one is that 'shit or get off the pot' expression to get this going or to not get it going, and the other is the expense of sending messages through ePlancul that I simply cannot afford to do too much more of.
There is a way through the site that when you check the profile of the person, they receive a notification that their profile has been checked, and by whom. In my last message to them I indicated that I would check their profile at any moment that I am thinking about them; so they will know I am still interested by virtue of this, but I will not reply until a date is provided. Hopefully out of the four at least one does come through with a date in the coming days, but if that doesn't happen, well, it was fun while it lasted.
