run update

I was given a permanent loan stopwatch from a friend so last night was my first timed run. I ran 5km in 25 minutes 10 seconds. This was made up of a continuous run of the first and last km, and about six walking pauses during the middle three.

So next goal is an easy one, get it under 5 minutes per km. Following that the goals will get harder.

One of by blogger friends who is a personal trainer suggests to people who are starting out a running routine that goes 40 steps of jogging/running and 10 steps walking. I've not tried it because I don't have much of a desire to run but maybe you could try it out on one of your runs.

Are you still doing push ups or is that challenge over? Kek, who is on my list of blogs recently posted one of those you tube videos on how to ramp up a push up routine. I'm not sure I have much desire to do that either.

I'm past a 40/10 step program. I'm ready to run the entire first, third and fifth km with two walking breaks on each of the second and fourth kms.

In another week or so, maybe three more training sessions, I think I'll be up to running the entire 5km. We'll see.

I have been doing the pushups occasionally, not as frequently as I intend to, however.
