weather in my underwear
So.... yesterday morning local weather forecasters predicted that we would get flurries, 2-4cm's of snow. By the time I was bringing G-bot to hockey at 6PM, it had already snowed about 10cm's. By this morning another 5cm's had fallen in addition to the ten from yesterday.
It is nothing new for us to get snow storms here, it is just a little surprising at how incorrect the forecast was. To those of you who don't have to deal with it, 15 cm's of snow is a considerably different effort as compared to 2 or 4 cm's of snow.
This morning I took G-bot and C-ling to their bus stop, the bus stops just up the street at around 7:18AM. We have been told to arrive as much as ten minutes before the bus' expected stop time, but this morning we only made it there by 7:16. It was slow going as C-ling was having trouble navigating the unplowed sidewalk. I looked up at the intersection where their bus stops the whole while we were walking towards the stop, and I did not see the bus pass.
We waited until 7:31 and then returned home, the bus didn't come.
Of course, our Elantra has the four winter tires (on rims) in it so there isn't room for me to drive the kids as I was taking the Elantra to the garage to have the winter tires put on in addition to some routine maintenance. Meanwhile my wife, who is not a morning person, was getting ready to go to work and was taking care of V-8. When I return home with G-bot and C-ling from the errant bus, she isn't near ready yet and V-8 is still in her pajamas.
I help get V-8 ready then go back outside to clear the cars of snow and shovel a path to the front door for the mail man. Finally get to the garage, have to wait sixteen minutes for the driver to return who will then drive me to work, and here I am.
Hectic morning.

Good grief, what an effort! I think I would be crying with frustration by the time I made it to work if I was placed in the same situation.
see? snow ruins everything.
