corrosive underwear

So, I was at MacDonald's with the kids some time within the past eleven days for lunch when a gaggle of teenagers entered. It appears to be common practice for teenage boys here to wear jeans that come up to what I consider to be indecently low to then show their underwear.

I do not understand this fashion statement. I do not doubt I have been unable to relate to being a teenager for quite some time, but this really drove it home.

Not just the boys, but the girls in tight, low pants that expose a bulging belly and hip fat.

Brilliant quote from Zhoen.

That (undies showing) fashion is soooo yesterday. Kids here gave up on it about a year ago.

zhoen: its too cold here right now for girls to do that, though in the summer I have seen it. More rare than the boys low jeans, however.

deb: I'm just hoping that kids here give it up by the time my kids are teenagers.
