So yes, terrible news: Canada now has a Conservative Majority government in Canada led by the fascist Stephen Harper. Now we, here in Canada, will have to live for the next four years with a national political leadership that is as transparent and multidimensional as an obelisk. Of all of the laws and decisions that this autocrat pushes forward, there are undoubtedly some with which I agree. However, his method of governing is what I abhor.
Oh well, what can be done? I exercised my right, and so did roughly 60% of everyone else in Canada.

Know the feeling.
It seems to me that regardless of who gets in we end up either disappointed, dismayed or disguested with their governing. How rapidly this comes about depends on the party elected.

Deb: how true. What Stephen Harper will have to deal with will likely put him under as it would to any leader. Another recession will start during his term and Canadians will be asking what he did/will do to alleviate the conditions of regular people. Time will certainly tell.
