So I have started to train to do a sprint or half Olympic triathlon next summer. This involves:
- Swim 750m
- Bike 20km
- Run 5km
I took a look at the results of this year's
Esprit Triathlon here and found that if I wanted to place in the top 17 of males my age I would need to do roughly this:
- Swim 750m - 14:58
- Bike 20km - 38:46
- Run 5km - 21:15
If I wanted to place in the top 34:
- Swim 750m - 18:35
- Bike 20km - 43:51
- Run 5km - 24:00
There were 48 males running in this age group, if I had been the last place guy:
- Swim 750m - 23:43
- Bike 20km - 52:55
- Run 5km - 36:26
If I can be in the top 30 of my age group, I think I'll be doing just fine.

That sounds awesome! I wish you the very best of luck. Don't push yourself too hard at the beginning because getting injured would be miserable.
