when wrens win whims

Since the start of the Condo tower that will be adjacent to the Bell Centre where the Canadiens play, the pathway to get to/from the train station has been blocked, and an indoor pathway through a perimeter hallway of the Bell Centre is now the path that most people use to get to/from the trains. In this hallway there is one set of door about 2/7ths of the way from the trains on one side to the exit on the other, and then a double-door set at the exit on the other end.

A pet peeve I have developed is how some people pass through these doors as we pass through them en masse. When there is a clear break between people, the doors swing shut. The next person to reach the door will open it, and people behind that first person will generally fall in line to push/hold the door open for the moment it takes to pass through, keeping it open for the people following behind. Occasionally, and this has happened to me twice this week, the person in front of me has the door held open for him/her by this method, but the him/her in front of me doesn't follow suit and so the door closes behind them requiring me to put significantly more effort in opening the door again for me and the people behind me.

It takes only a few ounces of pressure to keep an open door open to allow for subsequent people to pass. Is doing this too much to ask?

That's what you get trying to be reasonable, logical and considerate. Sheesh.

So you need to consider it to be exercise. It requires effort on your part thereby using muscles and movement. You win.

zhoen; it is all about consideration, or the lack thereof.

Deb: That's a great attitude, now if only I can learn to have it.
