first snow
I remember being a kid and being enthralled at the sight of the first real snow fall of the winter. My kids now are feeling the same thing.
We haven't had any yet, but the weather forecast for the next thirty six hours, starting this evening, is calling for 10 to 20 cm's of snow with some rain in the middle. So it will be a sloppy wet snowfall, but snow just the same.
We hire a snow removal service to clear our driveway of snow through the winter, but I still have to shovel the snow from the walk ways to our front and side doors. The service costs us 260$ and is really helpful as the city plows clear the roads by pushing the snow into a big snowbank along the driveway where it meets the street. This dense snowbank is laborious to shovel away whereas the truck they use to clear it up does it in two minutes.
The city within whose confines I tend to exist is reasonably adept at dealing with significant snow fall. For some of my blogmates, my guess is yours is not.

I still love snow. I only dread driving in it, and this town is reasonably good at clearing it.
I have no trouble driving in it, but occasionally get somewhat impatient with others who do have trouble. Fortunately I don't need to be driving very much as from home to train station to home is less than 5km.
It's always the other drivers, yes.
sometimes, my city even brings in the military to help clear snow. :)
