quaking in the lake

So we (my wife, G-bot and I) went to see 'Catching Fire' yesterday afternoon. A couple who are friends of ours, coincidentally came to the same showing and ended up in seats directly behind us. It is really quite amazing when such things happen, considering the number of cinemas there are, how many of their cinema halls are playing this movie, how many different showings there are and how many seats there are. They could have been in the same cinema hall but seated so far away that we'd not have known they were there.

I wonder if it has to do with the many instances of SLI that I have observed (participated in?) in the last few weeks.

As for the movie, it was well done and followed the book very well. It was quite a while ago that I read the book, so it may have deviated somewhat, but from what I remember it worked out well.

SImilar schedules and interests favor the chances of such meetings, though.

You have a point, Z, except for the fact that the guy in the couple has a job that has him traveling incessantly with arrival and departure dates spread out sporadically, independent of days of the week. That the female of the couple works weekdays, however, does go to your point that they'd only go to a mid afternoon showing on a weekend.
