walk in the fog

The latest Kurzgesagt walk, held on Monday nights, was not very well attended. There were 13 people signed up to go; well, who had expressed interest. It turns out only one other than me showed up. The forecast yesterday was for rain, sometimes heavy, throughout the day, but diminishing in the evening, which is when the walk was scheduled. Between 19h and 19h05 it rained, and then there was no more rain for the rest of the walk. H and I walked to the lookout, bypassing a walk around the lake. Looking down on the lake from where we could, however, was quite a surreal experience. Looking out at the city too. There was dense fog through which just the barest of disembodied city lights could be seen.

On the return path, since we didn't use the stairs, I had us turn off the Olmstead road too early, as it was dark and foggy and I wasn't certain of location. Will need to do a better job of this in future.

Our conversation ran all over the place with a fairly even conversational space distribution.

Given the poor turnout, I had an idea to organize instead of a Mount Royal walk on Monday evenings, a Montreal Underground walk on Saturdays. There is a route that can be taken in the underground that is about 5km, or more depending on how we do it; all without going outdoors. Perhaps I'll go into the city this coming Saturday to scope it out as I haven't done that whole path in quite some time.
