At some moment that precedes the moment I am writing this sentence I read something about how my town has planted ~600 trees in the 2022 calendar year. In the mean time, they have been cutting down, too.

In the vertical of the three photos above it is actually three trees in a row. I do not know what they have done with the wood - hopefully whatever they have done will sequester the carbon rather than have it either decay into the atmosphere or burn into the atmosphere.

I also hope that they continue to plant more trees - there are numerous areas in the various places I walk where I could see hundreds of more trees planted.
