500 cal day one

To get a starting point I weighed 150.0 lbs this morning and my scale told me I have 15.9% body fat. We'll see how this intermittent fasting goes over the next few weeks to change these things. I should also have measured my waist but in the morning I didn't have the time to get what I needed to do that.

I made a simple turkey sandwich and prepared some strawberries that adds up to about 340 calories; this will be my lunch. I do not know what else I will eat today, but the simplest thing would be to not eat anything else as then I don't have to give it any thought.

The great thing about the 5:2 diet is that tomorrow I get to eat whatever I want and don't need to pay attention.

Doesn't sound like a bad way to go. I just do P90x and then eat whatever I want

You hardly need to lose any weight, though I note this is not why you are doing it, so you might find it better to change to 6:1 if you drop too much weight. I found you lose weight quickly in the first 2 or 3 weeks then it plateaus out.
I've been on it since January and have lost 5kgs. Not a lot I know but I have reached a healthy weight so I don't expect to lose much more.

Pat, thanks for stopping in.

Deb, I've joined the site you've mentioned and have begun posting on the forums. The 6:1 certainly sounds easier, but I want to give the 5:2 a try for a little while.
