We had problems with the lights in our tree this Christmas and so we put a loose light string into the tree to complement the built-in ones that were working, filling in the gaps where the built-in ones weren't working. We spent a few hours trying to figure it out, without any success. Here is the tree:

That's a Christmas train track that runs around the bottom. We may decide to do away with this tree after this Christmas and go back to getting real trees next Christmas.

Here is one of our favourite ornaments, this mask.

Here's another one we like, a piano.

Here's Scarlett O'Hara.

V-8's godfather gives her a small Swarovski crystal ornament every year, here is one of them. Impressively, just by looking at it, he could tell you what year it is from.
I am not so gifted as to be able to tell such things.

I like the train, I'd add that to ours if I could find one the right config. Love the piano ornament, too. The crystals.... meh. But shiny.

Ah, I wondered the drawback for the pre-lit trees, never thought of the lights not working. Makes sense, seems obvious now.
